From just this, it seems obvious to me that he’s just trying to lead you on enough for you to give up on long term and just be with him now before he leaves

it’s hard bc we’re in a weird place where i don’t even know fs if i want to date him yet bc it’s too early but also ofc i’m hoping for that to be the result. i feel like i would be open to keep talking to him but without doing anything physical and see how he reacts bc that would show me how serious he is
