Who else believes that YikYak has a problem with the equality of hate so to speak. Like it’s perfectly valid to hate on all men on here and you actually get rewarded for it but if you hate on any women in any way you generally get downvoted and removed

women are oppressed on a gendered basis, that’s the difference. “hating on” women is part of the broader structural force of misogyny, whereas hostility towards men is first and foremost a reaction to that force

Like you can rightfully point out the flaws in men on here and that’s cool but it’s taboo to point out the flaws in women and I think a lot of it had to do with how men and women treat each other. Men aren’t afraid to bash their own gender and call out the stupidity of what some men do. Women are far less likely to do so and will turn a blind eye on women doing heinous things because, well, I really don’t know why because I’m not a woman. If I had to guess I would assume it’s because women are a

Lot more sensitive to the idea of being seen in a negative way and the big social movements to collectively homogenize women has been mostly successful in that sense.

How exactly are women oppressed though. There is nothing that I can legally do that you legally cannot do. And I’m sorry but pointing out legitimate flaws is not misogynistic. Yes, there are plenty of misogynist out there but not every guy who has a critique of women is doing so in a misogynistic way. There are legitimate criticisms and wrongdoings from both genders and saying that everything is misogynistic diminishes when real problems occurs

oh my god lmfao. so are you a minor or an incel or what? misogyny is one of the most obvious & commonly-understood structural oppressions, there isn’t even any conversation for you and I to have if you’re still struggling to wrap your head around that one

I’ve seen a lot of bizarre & goofy shit on this app but “how exactly are women oppressed” truly takes the cake

I asked one simple question and instead of answering it you attacked me personally. I never said misogyny wasn’t real. I acknowledged how real it is. Misandry is also real. I would still very much appreciate an answer to my question.

misogyny IS the gendered oppression of women, genius. misandry is not a real thing because men are not structurally oppressed on a gendered basis. if you need help understanding this, please pick up Feminism Is For Everybody by bell hooks

You have yet to tell me how women are oppressed. All I ask is for one example. That’s it

it’s literal common sense, I thought you just acknowledged that misogyny exists. pay gap is one of the most surface-level ones, same with rates of sexual violence. these examples are so blatant that if you aren’t already aware of them then, like I said, there’s no reason for me to try to hold a conversation with you
