Just edit out the gene that allows them to viably breed, and after enough time they die out. The dream 😩

They’re working with a bacteria called wolbachia that makes it so the mosquito can’t carry diseases but also if the male mosquito has it then the eggs won’t hatch so they have to continually release more

You can make it so that they live and breed, but the female offspring don’t survive to adulthood. That way the population slowly dies off as it becomes harder for male mosquitoes to find a mate
