He probably was fine without you and now lets you pick up the slack for the things he doesnt feel like doing but just pretends he doesnt know how to do it

Its most likely subconscious. He probably loves you. Lots of men do this without realizing and it can really hurt relationships. You shouldn't have to pick up his slack, thats the patriarchy still sinking its claws into him

Think about it this way: he is a grown adult and does not need your help. Your relationship should be focused on spending quality time, loving and being silly. You should both be able to function without each other though. It will give you both more freedom. Try looking into the "let them" concept it really helped me :)
