Because we can take loans for tuition and not pay them back for years (if at all). You can’t really do that the same way with a laptop. You and #2 are basically saying just don’t get an education or if you do then you should just pay up even though you’re already paying out the ass anyway

Get a credit card and use the credit to buy a laptop and pay it off over a year for all I care… 150 dollars interest rate 26% in total sub 200 dollars and you pay it off over 12 months. You can’t afford 17 bucks a month? How do you EAT??

Today I learned complaining about universities feeling entitled to your private data is a luxury, bc affording a SECOND laptop (that would still contain your personal data, film you, and share your IP info, so it doesn’t solve a single fucking problem) while going into lifelong debt is a luxury
