I made the realization that I never want to have children today and would rather have a fulfilling career than a family, and it is going to likely mean the end of my relationship. Idk how to feel, but I feel pretty damn good for putting myself first.

honestly, i feel the same way. i don’t want kids and probably never will. having a child would significantly limit my career and the opportunities i would be able to pursue. good on you for making that decision!!!

thank you. I just know that I won’t be happy unless I have a fulfilling career. if a family comes later, then it comes later, and I will be happy and fulfilled. but I need to make my career impact first

I’m so happy for you!! It can be a tough thing to figure out when there’s so much societal stigma and pressure. It took me a while! Just stand your ground and take care of yourself.

thank you :) as someone who was forced to be a people pleaser, helper, and giver my entire life, im really happy that the tap has run dry for everyone else and that its my turn to focus on myself now

I completely understand. And it can be so confusing sometimes figuring out if it’s you actually wanting to do things or “is it just how I was conditioned”.

exactly, don’t get me wrong I absolutely adore children. I just already have so many little cousins and people that rely on me, that I want to make sure I have a good stable life that I can bring children into first. if that happens and I still don’t want them, then it just wasn’t meant to be for me
