white people wearing bonnets always throws me off now ik you aren’t required to be black to protect your hair but the people who are now wearing bonnets bc it’s trendy are the same people who were calling us ghetto and trashy for wearing them

So you black and naturally have some biases but you did say protecting your hair isn’t just a black thing but you are also right too. But I think you should mind your own business unless it actually affects you.

White women used to sleep with their hair covered 100 years ago, and wear it in protective styles. Caring for our hair fell out of fashion for some reason. My personal theory is that it was to sell us more products. Black women have kept those protective traditions alive. I’ve learned so much about improving my hair health from black women, even if we have different hair types.
