How do you get over inappropriate crushes that you can’t have?

For me, usually crushes are less about the person and more about showing me something that I’m missing. Maybe that’s more laughter or banter or feeling desired. Once I figure that out, then I can go and find that elsewhere or if you’re in a relationship, work to get that need met
