I used to have the biggest cat phobia but always respected other people’s pet preferences. I just never wanted to hold them. Or if they moved different (like suddenly flopped to the side during a pet) I would jerk up.

I still ain’t at the level of holding them. But a lot of my friends have cats now and I kinda got exposere therapy through that. My fear probably started because I was just never around/raised with cats. Even my relatives and family friends had dogs
