Have you tried making it with broth instead of water? Tastes way better imo

to have w asian food i always do this: boil 1 cup water w 1 cup coconut milk, add a splash of sesame oil and 1 cup jasmine rice, put on the lid and immediately turn to low, don’t touch it for 20 mins, and it comes out perfect every time

Two easiest solutions are 1) rice cooker + instruction vid 2) microwave rice (Ben’s brand is p good)

My issues is it always comes out all mushy and clumped together. Maybe I need less water but I use the amount it says

If it’s mushy it’s 100% too much water

Also wash your rice. What type of rice you use helps a lot too. I always use basmati

What ratio are you using?

You might not be managing heat correctly. It should come to a gentle boil before you put the lid on and lower the heat. Make 1 cup of rice in a saucepan about 8 inches across. Melt butter, add aromatics and spices, add your rice until toasty, add 1c water/stock (I do water and stock powder), stir, then add the rest of the water. Bring up to temp, then lower the burner and put a lid on it. It's done when the standing water has all evaporated and absorbed.

Use a glass lid if you can to watch it. When it's done, remove from the heat, and put a folded kitchen towel under the lid. Let it sit for ~5 min then fluff and transfer to a bowl before serving to stop it from getting soggy with steam

I always do 1:1.5

1:1 is only for rice cookers. over the stove 1:1 will be both burnt and undercooked

I don't use a rice cooker bc I toast rice/aromatics. If ur making white rice its the way to go but I like my rice to be a bit peppier than that
