made a fried rice w only carrot, scallion, onion, and garlic and my bf was genuinely bewildered bc it tasted like it had chicken somehow. will attempt to get the recipe down

i steamed my rice w a little less water than called for (like a tbsp less than whatever the 2 is in the 1:2 ratio), sauté onion until sweaty, add carrot, scallion, n garlic, sauté until fragrant, add ur steamed rice; add soy sauce, honey, dash of rice vinegar, and chili garlic to taste. idk how but trust

you can add chicken powder to the rice for more umami bc of the msg in it

its also highly important to use a lid when making the rice, my dumbass thought that was an optional thing for years, it is not
