The color makes it look like you put the blueberry and maple in at the beginning of fermentation — does that effect the flavor of the additional stuff after fermenting?

It’s a new recipe I found, I’m supposed to age it with vanilla and more maple syrup after. It has a very strong blueberry smell to it though
