Varies depending on the situation, but my grandpa gave me the advice that you should never go on a third date with someone you can’t see a future with. Worked out for me. After 2-3 dates I could usually have a good sense of compatibility with people, and it’s usually not enough of a time commitment to people for them to feel like you wasted their time. No reason to waste time or anything with people, just go at the pace that best suits you, just respect their time and yours.
