I’m in recovery and just found out the guy I’m dating is anorexic. Every time I’ve eaten since I’ve felt guilty. Is this a good enough reason to break things off with him?

If it triggers you then yeah you don’t wanna put yourself in danger. But if you really like him and want it to work maybe you could try talking to him. See where he’s at, if there is a way to eat without making him uncomfortable. My best friend is anorexic and sometimes I rly worry eating around them. But we’ve gotten good at talking about their triggers and as long as I avoid them we’re all good and I can do what I want guilt free

if he’s actively in the disorder, even if he’s not outwardly competing with you, it’s so much more likely for u to relapse. i think it’s safest for u to break things off

If you’re not in a place to be a part of his support system towards recovery, it’s completely valid. Don’t stay anywhere you’re not comfortable

I use quotes bc you never really recover, you just try to shift your mental energy to other things. But being around him makes me incredibly self conscious of my own eating and weight

So I got a downvote instead of an explanation💀 only trying to help
