if you’ve been clear about what you want then that’s on him talk to him about it it’s gonna suck but it’ll suck less than if he asks to make it official and you reject him

Exactly what you’ve been doing. This is not a problem. If he at some point can’t handle you not loving him back, then he’ll leave and you have to be ok with that (unless you DO love him back by then). Just make sure you’re absolutely honest with him if he tries to push anything, but don’t try to get ahead of it
