Honestly not really! Reading or writing wasn’t common for most people until recently in history, so not having very clear vision wasn’t too important. You would probably just change jobs based on near sighted or far sighted (like if you are near sighted you wouldn’t want to be riding a horse or drawing carriages, and being far sighted you wouldn’t want to do any detail work like embroidery or something)

I mean if your prescription isn’t super high ig. My prescription is high and I’m legally blind without corrective lenses. Without them my eyes might as well just be for decoration
