Btw as a cast member if you see an adult beating a child you can and should call security just as you would for an adult hitting another adult. It’s against park rules

Spanking a child is legal in Florida, though, so if you report it, Security isn’t going to do anything.

I work in Security and we literally don’t do anything about it. 👍🏼

There’s spanking and then there’s literal beating with excessive force. Both are against park rules but ive seen straight up child abuse on more than one occasion. In my department we’re encouraged to call security ourselves. If yall dont do your jobs enforcing park rules (doesn’t matter if its legal) at least we tried

Please point me to the park rule prohibiting disciplining your child.

Obviously, excessive force is a different thing (and OCSO makes the call in that). But simply spanking a child or swatting a child is not against “park rules” or the law. 🤷🏻‍♂️

I’ll admit I thought there was something that referred to hitting other guests more explicitly but all im finding is "unsafe, illegal, disruptive or offensive behavior". Im talking about beatings not a light spank though. We’ve called had parents slap kids in the face, shove them to the ground, or publicly beat them on their exposed bottom with excessive force in front of other uncomfortable guests and those instances led to various interventions.
