It’s not inherently racist to have a polynesian themed resort. Polynesia is a region. Its not really any different than the countries in Epcot and the continents/regions in Animal Kingdom.

the tiki aesthetic that the design is rooted in is kitschy at best and insensitive at worst. i agree it's not worth rehauling the resort over but it's definitely a product of its time.
