genuinely wondering why anybody even does the program at all. it doesn’t pay for college anymore. You get paid a dollar less you have zero union you get shitty hours. You get zero benefits. The fact that you guys even paid to become an employee at a company is crazy. going part time is so much better

imo i think they’re pretty clear and up front about what you’re signing up for 🤷‍♀️ people just don’t research well beforehand or come in with unrealistic expectations about how “magical” it all is

for a lot of people this is the only way they can afford to move to florida or get a foot in the door in the company

u can still move into flamingo as part time tho. its what i did, i never even heard of the college program when i moved in

it's still not exactly the easiest for out of state people to get a part time position at disney. for some this is the easiest way to get a start in the company. also, the program fee + rent is less than basic rent in some states so it's at best a good deal and at least pretty comparable. it's also a good option for those who don't have transportation and need the bus system.
