I did move in less than a week ago, so I have some lights that I wanna put up. I want to get a really nice floor lamp. I want to turn the corner with the bookshelf into more of a reading nook. I have like a hanging light for that area and the reason why I put my TV on the wall that I did is because it’s a shorter wall so it’s easier to center everything and I want to create a gallery wall around my TV.

Why is the couch in the middle of the room? Unless there the space behind the couch serves another purpose, that’s generally a thing to avoid while interior designing as it leaves you feeling unanchored and like you’re floating in space. Especially in front of a window

Because the room is really long, and was a huge gap of space in between the couch and the tv. The other option is orientate everything at an angle and I don’t like that. The bookshelf will create a reading nook spot and I’ll eventually have barstools

A reading nook is a darling idea and might help to anchor your couch more. I still think the room doesn’t look too big to have the couch on the wall (the couch actually looks way too close to the TV, there’s no room for a coffee table or foot stools). If the room is long, are you supposed to put a dining table on the carpet area as well? Not that you have to, but is it big enough to be two rooms? I had an apt like this and it was a little awkward too

My tv is super small and trust me it was bad when we anchored the couch on the wall opposite the tv. And it was too much space in between. I choose a side table instead of a coffee table as well. When I toured the apartment they had the tv in the corner and the couch opposite it at a diagonal. I know it’s not conventional or following the interior design rules but I live alone so I’m the only person it has to work for and I’m just kind of trying things out since I’ve only been here a week!!!
