Something I’m doing next year is buying a simple metal structure for the canopy and have the curtains hang on that! You can find one on Walmart for like $40 and then just look up canopy curtains the same size, it isn’t exactly the same vibe as a ceiling mounted one but it’s easier to deal with in a dorm

maybe put your bed in a corner and attach a canopy on the wall, it'll be asymmetrical if you do that but it should still look really cool

You can always put masking tape on the walls/ceiling and then place command hooks onto the taped area to prevent paint damage. I think that might be manageable for something like this!

can you attach strings/wires to command hooks that are on the walls? might look a little funny but it’s technically not touching the ceiling

Idk how heavy it would be or how tall the ceilings are, but you could get two really tall pieces of wood, paint them the color of the walls and cantilever it

But yeah!! All of this is super dorm-friendly since you just put it up, it doesn’t get installed into anything so you can be sure your walls and ceilings don’t get damaged

I was thinking of doing it this way but I was scared it was gonna turn out ugly. I will be trying this though thank you!!!!

Hang command hooks at least two cinderblocks down from the ceiling, and just make an A symmetrical corner typa canopy

In fact I’m pretty sure that’s what they did in the photo and then tied the curtains around them. Unless the bed was designed that way
