having a perfect dorm room like a lot of these people is not possible for 90% of collage students, lot of those people are RICHH and some of them even have room planners they hire to make it for them ??? u just gota do what makes you happy and kill the perfectionist inside ur head

im also autistic and i decorate my room with every color for 10 dolalrs (furniture off side of the road, window rainbow makers from amazon, random stuff i printed out tape on walls) and i love it Do whatever you want

use black for the furniture and the accents/accessories u can use color that would look cute. so like a black nightstand black shelves etc but like a colorful lamp

It’s your room, so no one else gets to judge you unless you specifically ask for their opinion. You’re your biggest critic, which I know it’s hard to hear it, but hopefully you’ll learn not to care about other people’s opinions, especially if those people don’t truly matter to you. Tip on using colors— have varying tones of colors. Aka differing amounts of light and dark colors. instead of everything being even toned (think crayola markers) do orange with light green, Red with light blue. There’s nothing wrong with using different colors. You just need to vary the tones to add complexity and interest. Consider looking up complementary color patterns on the color wheel
