Take one or two books you have already read and can talk about, if you have an English class sometimes they ask questions, an example being “what was so good about it? and what metaphors stood out to you?” I had books I liked and read before but not on hand to go back for quotes which threw me off
If you live in a dorm with restrooms shared by the floor, bring shower shoes/flip flops! Also if you’re rooming with someone you don’t know try to bring something to stash private things in (cash, jewelry, etc) a locked box will do wonders. Does not have to be super expensive, a friend of mine got one to stick in a drawer under her textbooks
I got a hanging shoe organizer, like one for a closet rod instead of an over the door. Good if you have a shared closet or small wardrobe and you can put shoes/clothes/hats whatever really in it. Also like 6 said bring cold/sick medicine, you’re gonna get sick at least once and it sucks if you have nothing to make you feel better.
