If your BBEG is memorable enough then sure. Personally what I like to do is go with the Rule of Three when it comes to foreshadowing. There are three major moments of foreshadowing details in every arc, leading to whenever any reveal happens, it will feel earned. I use this with my BBEGs by having them appear three major times throughout an overarching story with maybe a few smaller appearances.
