I was in a campaign where someone was a possum humanoid and people would essentially be racist towards her… one night I ended up DMing for the campaign, so I put them in a town of animal people with a raccoon bartender that was racist towards non-animal humanoids

Acts suspicious for no reason, bonus points if it gets to the point where the party decides to interrogate/fight them and it turns out the npc was just trying to put together a surprise party for another person/party member, imagine the party’s guilt/horror of what they did just to find out that the npc was actually harmless
