my dad and I did a “solo” campaign when I was first leaning… he was GM but also played a character who just couldn’t do much situationally. like I was still the one who did puzzles and stuff bc of course he knows them lol. it’s not conventional but it was still fun

That makes sense. It’s the asking a stranger to DM a one person campaign that confuses me. Plus it seems like OP has ideas for what they want so that may make it more complicated
