If there was anymore water I’d think I landed in the hoenn region. (No shade this looks awesome)

What is the scale, and who made that bridge/why is it worth all the effort vs boats

What are the plate techtonics and what style of map projection did you use? Also need to know the over all curvature size of the surface as well as knowing how much of a sphere this takes. Or is this a flat planet, which opens a lot of other more intense questions

So was the third bridge a bit of contention in the world? Because once two are made there is a much faster and more effective route for trading. A third one is unnecessary. UNLESS the city that had both bridges was being an asshole and taxing/abusing the hell out of the other cities (or just one) so they decided to rebel and make their own

I really like this map, the mountain pass is an interesting concept. I really like inkarnate and if you plan on including rivers remember they run north to south

Cool concept for a world. Although wouldn’t a design where all three bridges intersected in the center make more sense? It would allow for a hub of international trade that was connected directly to all three countries while remaining a separate entity. You might already have a reason why not, but I’m just curious.

The bridge was build by Pycern (imperial empire) to encourage trade between the 3 cities. The bridges are large and wide enough that they each have their own small cities in the middle point of the bridge. The reason why it’s better than boats is because boats are generally either owners by the wealthy, or cost a lot of money to be a passenger on. With the bridges, it encourages migration and trade for everyone, regardless of economic status.

The scale of the map is pretty small. It would take about a month to travel from the top to the bottom and about 2 months from left to right. I may adjust that though.

already imagining a point in the campaign for a chase scene in the city as the bridge and city gets destroyed that's so cool

It’s a website called “Inkarnate.” It’s free, but it’s only $25 per year for a bunch of awesome stuff too that I highly recommend

I do plan on having a war break out at some point with one of the cities sabotaging the bridge with explosives or something. Maybe throw in a sea monster or two during the fight for shits n giggles idk.

This isn’t the whole planet, but a very large archipelago. If the campaign goes well, I may expand on the lore and world that takes place on another continent or something.

As far as the plate techtonics go, the reason why the shatterlands looks like that is because there is a primordial “ooze” thing that emerged from the earth about 50 years ago, making Venarion a dead city and breaking apart the land when it emerged. It’s been dormant since the destruction of the city, but people still watch it just to be sure (The Rehabilitation and The Guardians). If you couldn’t tell, that part of the world is obviously inspired by A song of ice and fire.

For a point of reference on scale, it takes around 35-37 days of constant walking (no stops to sleep or eat) to cross the US so I’d adjust your scale accordingly. The map is bangin tho and you can just say it’s as big or small as you want

There’s actually a reason to this lol. Bronski (the city in the gulf without a bridge) was becoming a naval powerhouse. Before the bridges were built, bronski, Mulphan, and Stifflehold were prosperous trading partners. Feeling at risk, Pycern decided to make 3 bridges to dissuade the other 2 cities from trading with Bronski. This led to a steep economic decline in Bronski, which persuaded them into evolving to a “bandit economy” just to survive.

So basically yes, Pycern was being an asshole
