Was ‘jokingly’ told I’d be shamed if I showed up to the first session refusing to do a character voice but the reason I don’t do it is because it makes me too afraid to talk and now I feel too anxious to say anything anyway

That is a toxic group, and I’d recommend finding another one that doesn’t shame you for having anxiety.

Hhhh our first session is in 30 min it’s a fucking mess. This person’s humor is just dry sarcasm apparently because it’s not only me he’s made jokes like that to, but still. Our first planned session got canceled because someone caught covid. Our DM forgot to reserve a place for us to meet so we don’t even have a place despite still planning to meet. We also have a first time player that went Too Far with edgy backstory and has seemingly stopped taking it seriously when told to change it ;-;
