I use a maul in my game too. In 5.5 if you have the weapon mastery literally every attack you have a chance to knock them prone.

They made fighter awesome. Now I get to play champion and bully enemies with perma advantage athletics checks without feeling like im playing a lobotomized class

Excellent question 😈 Got Tough from my farmer background, 100% recommend. Best origin feat. I took Crusher at level 4 cuz mauls are her thing. It’s fun and thematic, but it’s not… the best. Wouldn’t recommend for most barbs. I’m gonna take Charger, Mage Slayer, and Great Weapon Master eventually. Mage Slayer isn’t the snazziest but it will SAVE YOUR LIFE. My bby has 8 WIS and 7 INT, she ain’t passing those saves. Charger is SUPER fun. I love yeeting enemies, or just dealing an extra d8. 💅

My barbarian has savage through her soldier background, GWM at level 4, but idk what to give her at level 8, I homebrewed something with her Cat’s Claws, for a bonus attack.

Oooh that sounds so cool. She’s a tabaxi barb? Mage Slayer is always a solid choice for a barbarian. Also, important note, I play 5.5E, so all non-origin feats give an ASI too now. Some of the other feat abilities might be different from what they are in 5E.

Yeah she’s a tabaxi totem barb, and I play with the 2014 rules, so still getting that +10 with GWM 😊
