Environmental Baddies on Yik Yak | Need help identifying a spider. It was on the floorboard of my apartment and I’ve never seen a spider like it in my region, especially not inside. I live in central Illinois. I don’t usually see spiders with this coloration indoors.

I haven’t ruled out it being a false widow, but there are so many variations online that I’m sort of overwhelmed by the possibilities

Do you live near water? A spot that floods frequently? It looks to me like a fishing spider

Possibly steatoda borealis or grossa, though leaning towards the first one
