I’m not sure how to feel about this. NEPA has clearly needed to be reformed since it’s been used to delay and in some cases kill projects related to infrastructure and transportation. But it seems this is a step too far in the wrong direction.

NEPA needs serious reform, but that has to come from Congress. This SC decision just further limits the government’s ability to oversee and enforce environmental protections in the future.

I agree, on top of this congress already allocates insufficient funds to operate NEPA (the ESA and many other environmental laws) at their full power. While NEPA needs to be reformed, this decision is not that, it is a free pass to continue expanding oil infrastructure while ignoring the downstream effects of it.
