Went on a guided cave tour not too long ago, it was really cool but the tour guide kept spreading misinformation. It’s not her fault, she’s prob off a script but I couldn’t help but hyperfixate on it. Like at one point she said gastropods no longer exist

No she literally pointed to a gastropod fossil, talked about them a little and then said “gastropods no longer exist” I know she probably meant just that species but still. It was all throughout the tour too, I’m a marine biology major and it was all marine fossils so I just happen to know about them.

I didn’t…I whispered to my dad all the correct information. Someone had asked the guide if she was a geology major in school and she said “no I’m an advertising major”. So again, everything she said was just from a script she was given. I also just didn’t want to be THAT person Yk? Although with how often she was wrong I maybe should have. In the gift shop they also were selling “sea biscuit” skeletons and they weren’t…it was sea urchin skeletons. That one my dad wanted me to say something
