I’ll also add, spraying permethrin on fabric (or deet if you have cats at home) is highly effective

My trick is tucking my pants into my socks. Haven’t got a tick bite in the last 5 years since I started doing it

Permethrin will come off your clothes onto plants you walk in and can kill native beneficial insects.
