Everyone I knew got around just fine on regular bikes. It was a an hour and a half bike ride to town and that never required electric bikes. They’re dangerous and unnecessary for children to use.

when i think about what has happened to these kids i am inclined to blame their parents for allowing their kids to ride electric bikes but it honestly it also comes down to towns doing such a bad job accounting for bikes on the road. there should be better infrastructure and rules for protecting cyclists of all ages

Well I mean that’s how they’re getting the bikes it’s not like they’re buying them themselves. And yeah like just being better at being walkable and bikable is important but it’s a lot of times not that that’s the problem. At least near me. The kids mess around on the bikes and then hurt themselves or hurt other people. And none of them wear helmets
