Literally this shit is just pushing me away from the hobby entirely cause it’s just a hellscape of capitalistic nightmares. I do not want to use Ai at all. Nor do I want to be forced to because it’s cheap for companies and they refuse to do anything else. I’m tired of this yall. I love games but I will never in a million years have every frame of my game be upscaled with generative AI. That is literally unacceptable to me. Im tired of this cyberpunk bullshit.

This was specifically about AMDs new upscaling tech FSR4. Which apparently now uses generative AI. So like they literally didn’t even need to do this because image upscaling doesn’t necessarily have to be AI. I’m pissed. I just wanna be able to enjoy games without thinking about this yall. But nah of course they’ve gotta put the clankers in my goddamned gpu (which I don’t own yet) because it probably saves money.

An ai in a home computer isn’t going to use a ton of power like an online ai that requires a data center would. I don’t use frame gen because it has a ton of input delay and doesn’t look great.
