okay bug people, i need help. i saw this tiny white spider-looking thing yesterday, didn’t get a picture since i didn’t have my phone on me, but i wanna know what it is. here’s a very rough drawing i did from memory. i live in appalachia if that helps 😭
he was very very small, white, and had a spiky butt. i found him under an old cushion outside that had become one with the bushes. there was quite a few of them but after a couple minutes of being in the light they dipped

Are you sure it wasn’t carrying an egg case? It is the season for spiders right about now

could’ve been? idk, i know jack about bugs 😭 but you very well could be right. thing is, all of the ones i saw had the white butts. is it possible a bunch of them with eggs would be together like that?

Hmmmmm probably not, I’d look up white spiders and see if any look familiar. The color description is unique enough to weed out the common stuff. Are you absolutely certain it was a spider tho? Did it move like a spider, did it have 8 legs, etc.?

i just assumed it was a spider, but it could’ve been something else. sadly when i googled the description of it, nothing looked familiar :( i just wanna make sure nothing venomous is in my yard, esp since i have an outside cat

lacewing larvae are super cool! they’ll cover their back in lichen and the carcasses of the dead bugs they suck the juice out of
