So random acts of violence from children towards other living things like animals is a sociopath flag, it is very different from adults hunting. My family is all hunters and we might keep a fur or two but when they deer hunt (which is good for the environment) they take the meat to a butcher and donate all or most of the meat to shelters in the area.

Animal abuse is very different from hunting. Trophy hunting isn’t good, but there are many other reasons why people hunt like I mentioned. It’s as humane as death as any for a wild deer, it’s better than being hit by a vehicle or dying of starvation or the brain parasites they get.

Stray cats are easier to control, you can capture them and they aren’t dangerous to humans. They are an invasive species which is why their removal is warranted. However deer are native and important species but we drove out all of their predators and have to fill in the space.

But when a cat is feral and can’t be trapped and it’s causing problems like deaths or bad damage to local ecosystems, I do believe it’s okay to put the cat down to protect local wildlife. But whoever abandoned the cat or litter should also be held accountable for causing these problems.
