You could always treat it like kudzu. Rip out the roots and burn it then hope you didn’t miss any or it (kudzu) will come back with a vengeance

Cut it all the way down and give yourself 3 inches or so of stem to work with. Clear off any and all cut pieces then apply a herbicide to the fresh cut remainder of the stem. That way you don’t have to use large quantities and the plant cannot dilute the pesticide through its system

Start praying fr. Could try herbicide like follier spray but that stuff is also pretty nasty for the environment/run off as well

pull it out by the roots (this is pretty easy to do but gets tiring with a large amount like this) and replace it with a native

oh no this plant is a nightmare. You have to be VERY careful removing it, any dropped leaf or piece of stem has the chance of rooting again. Burn it or let it dry dead somewhere completely off the dirt. Don’t let any fragments blow away.

You might want to use glyphosate herbicide. Spraying comes with a lot of considerations—don’t spray if you’re near water, or on a windy day, or if there are desirable plants nearby, etc. Looks densely populated in the bg too. With a small patch like this i would inject the stems instead. less risk of collateral damage to the area. Please do your own thorough research if you go this route. To do herbicide for a job you have to get a full on license, don’t be flippant abt it just bc ur DIYing
