Probably that one style of fish evolution thats OP where the salt water ones go fresh water to fuck die and feed terrestrial mammals. I forget what its called because it’s history not ecology here. But is everyone looking upstream is that normal or relevant?

Soil / water sampling? Removing invasive species? Maybe like a survey of the diversity of what lives in the substrate type thing There’s a stream biology class at my university but I don’t have the room in my schedule to take it 😔

To me those nets = bug sampling!!! Which orders of insects you find and in what quantities can tell you a lot about stream health (some are more tolerant to disturbance than others).
