Hand sanitizer and extra band aids! Kids play hard and a band aid can help a kid feel better after a fall/injury, even if they really don’t need it. Do you need bug spray or bear spray?

sunscreen that doesn't have avobenzone (the easiest one to find is probably Coppertone Baby mineral lotion). Kids always forget sunscreen and avobenzone is a decently common allergy.

i also didn’t know that, what does the avobenzone do in regular sunscreen? like does it have a purpose or just to kill the environment and children?

I think it's just that the US has only ever approved 2 ingredients for sun protection and that's one of them (it's also called oxybenzone) while other countries have approved more, and unlike zinc oxide it dries clear without much effort on the manufacturer's side

And I wish I were joking but unless you’re like off the road car camping EVERY single one is required. Like I really wish I had extra dry clothing and trail mix

Oh idk if your camp has the same procedures mine did, but if you have to do any daily reports or camper paperwork you might get a clipboard. Theyre easy to carry with everything else and also good for fanning fires imo

Also a pocket knife is good for so many things you’d be surprised if this isn’t smth you’re already aware of

The way all sunscreens work is by creating a thin chemical or mineral barrier on the skin to literally block UV rays

Loveee afterbite as someone very sensitive to mosquito bites, alcohol based hand sanitizer works in a pinch but I’ve also had to use topical Benadryl before
