working in conservation is my dream job and i love the work and i think it’s so important but thinking about the fact that no matter what we do the amount of damage we’ve done is irreparable and we will never get back to where we started is a real bummer

like the world is still beautiful and there are some things we can work on but the plastic won’t be fine for thousands of years. i’ll never see the land i feel so deeply for and the nature preserve i love without honeysuckle in my lifetime

Yes it is sad, heartbreaking even. But we have to continue forward with the hope that we are making positive change for future generations. Earth has been through a LOT. If we can manage ourselves, it will be fine in the long run. Nature always finds a way. Things will definitely looks different, and we can never get back what we have lost. But it’s never over.

i’ll never see forests full of american chestnuts with ash trees. what was once vast wetlands in ohio will never be able to be restored. the chemicals in all the soil. quality soil being scraped off the land during new construction. idk, i’m not a primitivist i’m so glad we have modern medicine lmao but i struggle knowing ill never fully be able to know my area as it knows itself

Hate to bust your bubble but this has been known for a while now. The Three Gorges Dam in China is estimated to have slowed earth’s rotation slightly
