Natural climate change happens over tens of thousands of years. HOWEVER our current warming event has been over ~350 years (Industrial Revolution). This is very much human caused by fossil fuel burning. Sincerely - a petroleum geology major

A lot of the older folks in oil and gas believe that climate change is happening they just attribute it to the natural warming cycle that we’re in since the end of the ice age and not to humans burning fossil fuels. Which is true the climate has been warming since the end of the ice age. What they fail to understand that over the last 350 ish years the temperature has SPIKED increasing multiple degrees over a timeframe that’s TINY when putting it into a geological perspective. Very dangerous

This is why geologists need to be trained on communication skills, especially those of us that work in oil and gas since we’ll be running those industries soon and can adjust business strategies towards sustainability
