She was an animal trafficker, not a legit rescue. She ran a business and stole/sold livestock. There were numerous reports of mistreatment and deaths at her ‘rescue’. Not saying she deserved this in any way, but lets not act like her business was suddenly a charity

Ohhhh I didn’t know all of that, that leaves a sour taste in my mouth. She definitely didn’t deserve to be pushed to take her own life, but it’s very very disheartening to learn this about her “rescue” as well 😔

thank you i’m seeing people who have spoken out about saf get SO MUCH SHIT but ignoring the husbandry issues does nothing but set back animal welfare

Yeah. This is still sad and she didnt deserve this. But people also werent in the wrong for pointing out her flawed approach to animal husbandry. Thats not “harassing” its people that have actual experience pointing out where she couldve improved. I honestly speculate theres way more that happened here besides “internet trolls”. The most i ever saw was a few tumblr blogs/posts that were literally just info sheets FROM her. This seems like a copout and im honestly suspicious of her husband tbh

apparently the husband said the biggest offenders were people they knew personally and other animal sanctuaries so 1. the people criticizing her on tumblr.com were definitively NOT to blame and 2. I wonder how much of that “bullying” was also just criticism of her actions or just genuine concern for her/the animals’ wellbeing. At minimum the husband enabled her animal hoarding and probably underlying mental health issues
