Literally, the biggest issue has never been the cars themselves but the ridiculous order of the calendar which is supported by the tracks paying tons of money to be in specific times of the season. Which causes hella unnecessary air time

Think about it for a minute: people have criticized barely noticeable slower speeds, increased use of safety measures, the halo, and safer more sustainable engines. There are way too many people who want to go back to no-halo, concrete barrier, unreliable overpowered engines. This is how people crash. This is how driver get hurt and killed. People keep saying “oh f1 is way to slow now” except it’s really not, top speeds of 350kmh isn’t exactly slow imo

I promise you I’ve thought about it for more than a minute. My username doesn’t mean nothing. These “barely noticeable slower speeds” directly caused a crash in Suzuka which at a track with closer barriers could’ve been lethal. And the halo was critiqued for looking a bit ugly, no one worth actually listening to was critical of it existing because they knew it was for safety. You say people want to go back to unreliable engines like these engines are?

And again, anyone wanting to go back to concrete walls and no halo are genuine troglodytes who don’t deserve your brain power. Simply saying “o big top speed means fast car” is completely missing what people are actually saying when it comes to how fast the cars are. Those speeds are extremely momentary and generally these cars are seconds behind where they were last year. Nothing necessarily wrong with going back at the start of a reg cycle but the way we get there.

I’m still struggling to see how it’s a massive problem that cars are vaguely slower this year. If you didn’t tell someone, I’d be willing to bed they’d never even notice.

As I said it’s not just purely the fact that they’re slower. No one cared in 22’ because the cars were slower, just that they were fat and heavy. It’s the same thing now. A lot of people outside of F1 actually don’t like it because it’s so fast, slower racing provides more action. The point is that the regs haven’t solved the problems that fans wanted them to solve. The one problem that they sort of solve is overtaking but it’s not as natural as fans might want it to be.
