I’ll never understand when movies do stuff like this, but especially from a PR perspective. Simone is very popular because of Bridgerton and everyone loves her. Young people especially, and that’s the main demographic of the movie. Not to mention she’s beautiful. But also it’s already such a male dominated sport and movie, cutting one of the few women is bound to cause uproar and gives people another reason to not support the movie.
It’s even more unfair because she was one of the first cast while she was filming sex education season 3, 4 years ago. She’s been promoting and teasing it ever since and basically did most of the promoting herself for the past 3 years. My friend is literally dragging me to the theater opening night because I don’t want to see it at this point. I didn’t even want to because they are making I harder for women in motorsport as well by everything I’m hearing about it.
