I don’t think that is the reason he would have crashed out. He’s been half a second slower than Fernando for the majority of the time they’ve been teammates. Idk it would start affecting him now. But it really seems to be his wrists. The past 2 years some of his onboards, I’ve seen him drive one handed a lot. His right hand is still on the steering wheel but you can see there isn’t much pressure on it at some points. And frustration and crash outs from chronic pain is a whole other beast.
