How do y’all avoid your family while in the house? Usual tactics aren’t working anymore

While in the house I feel like there’s nothing you can really do other than to keep yourself busy so that they struggle to find time to bother you. But personally I get out the house by spending time with my best friend. Even if we don’t go anywhere or do anything fun. Sometimes we just go to Walmart just to walk around and talk for hours while sitting in one of our cars.

assuming you do not have limitations and have access to a computer, a big go to for me is to find fun games to play but keep a tab up of notes im "studying" or an essay im "writing" to switch if someone were to come and try bothering me

im gonna be so depressing but im reading this on my period. most of my family is dead and this makes me really sad. please spend time w them, because no matter how old they are u truly dont know how much time they have. my dad passed when i was just 17. please dont avoid them if they are just trying to hang w u. if they are assholes, sure but if they are genuine, please dont shut them out

I can try the first option, but trying to clean a stage 2 hoarder house sounds like a sure fire way to be given more shit to deal with. But I’ll take your second option into consideration, there’s a library within walking distance so I can run off to there if needed. Thank you <3

Hope that works out for you! Maybe you’ll even be able to make friends at the library. Or if being solo is your thing, definitely stick to places nearby that you can safely get to.
