I feel you. It’s an act of control. I’m sorry! My mom has also dug up tomatoes for being “too close to the AC” and uprooted flowers I like because she didn’t. When you get your own place, you can have as many happy cacti as you please! I’m sorry she doesn’t respect your belongings.

Thats you assuming that her mom did it for the same reasons your mom did it but I really feel like thats not the case. I bet her mom thought "its a plant, I should water it" and listened to that
