No, but that’s simply bc I managed to come out with the “I will never deal with that bullshit ever again” mentality instead of “this is familiar so I seek it”. Though I’m also AuDHD so I failed to develop the coping mechanisms required to form the latter attachment and just kinda suffered in totality till it was over and I could leave Anyway therapy. Everyone should be in therapy. Therapy is really good and there’s many free options esp for college students so look into your local options
Yes. In fact, this is actually a real thing that has been studied by health institutions. Children who are victims of abuse have increased risk of being abused again in their lifetime. This includes being raised by abusive parents etc. I’ve heard they are 6 times more likely to be abused as an adult compared to children who weren’t abused.
True! And not just domestic violence, they’re also more likely to experience sexual abuses as well. It’s why we really need to support long lasting programs that go just beyond childhood for all abuse victims (as many cut off at 18, or only extend to female victims for example). Long term care and support is the biggest reduction factor. But it’s not the only one, it’s not inevitable, so it’s important to not get mentally stuck in that loop.
