I wish my parents would let go of me a little. I am 20 now and they still expect me to ask permission to go do things and call them every night. Don’t get me wrong, I love them, I just need my own space to become an independent person

sorry to say, but they won't give up control unless they have to. if you're moved out, it's time to take some initiative to make space for yourself. maybe only call them every couple days and don't ask permission to go out. you hold most of the cards rn

I’m not sure about you and your mom but when I was feeling like this with my parents I told her how I was feeling. Straight up told her how she’s still treating me like a child and felt smothered by it. Be honest and stand your ground firmly but politely

(Also sometimes you just gotta ask forgiveness rather than permission lol. I got a tattoo and my ears pierced as a guy which my dad was not happy about lol)

Huh?? Girl if you don’t stop playing around with your ADULT parents. You’re moved out girl. My dad’s strict asl, as soon as I moved away for college I barely spoke to him and did what I want. No one can tell you how to live, you’re an adult. It’s your life and you’re only going to be 20 once. Take the time to enjoy YOU, absent of a boyfriend or parents.
